Gamborg Fjord Castle and Manor House are situated on the western part of the island of Fyn, only ten minutes from the bridge over the Little Belt, but an eternity from everyday life.
The Castle offers a welcome oasis of aristocratic vacation comfort for the demanding guest in its remarkable location and accommodations.
The island of Fyn is known for its beautiful landscape and Denmark's largest concentration of castles and manor houses.
The major city on the island, Odense, is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, the famous author of fairy tales for children and adults alike. Odense itself offers a number of attractions in H. C. Andersen's home, its museums and zoo; it is centrally located within Denmark and is within easy reach of Copenhagen and other parts of the country by bridges and, if preferred, ferries. The Castle is located on Gamborg Fjord in a rural, agricultural community with close access to the water.
Gamborg Fjord Castle was built in 2001 with 10,750 sqft of floor space in two stories on a 1¾-acre property. The property extends down to a small beach on Gamborg Fjord and is surrounded by green meadows, forests, hedge rows and an undulating, fertile landscape. Upon entering the front door, the entry opens into a two-story space with a crystal chandelier and passes into a 1,290 sqft Hall of Knights with its open ceiling beams and windows on three walls. Adjacent to the Hall is the exceptionally equipped castle kitchen (300 sqft), with cooktops, ovens, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, and coffee machine. Also on the first floor is an activities room with billiards table, etc. The second floor has the unusually elegant living room (1,040 sqft) with a beautiful view of Gamborg Fjord.
You will sleep like counts and countesses in the eleven bedrooms (nine 235-sqft and two 215 sqft) each with a double bed and 65-sqft bathroom. Each room has French doors or windows opening up to a panoramic view of the fjord or the adjacent landscapes. A hallway leads to one of the Castle's main attractions, a 2,400-sqft tropical oasis with palms, vegetation, and an impressive 1,300+ sqft swimming pool surrounded by 32 Byzantine columns. The complex also includes an elegant, six-person hot tub and grotto-type caves under an island in the pool.
Gamborg Fjord Manor was built in 2001 with 6,150 sqft of floor space in two stories on the 1¼-acre property. The property also extends down to the small private beach on Gamborg Fjord and is surrounded by green meadows, forests, hedge rows and an undulating, fertile landscape that makes one understand why Fyn is affectionally known as the garden of Denmark. Arrival at the Manor brings you through the park along a 300-foot driveway flanked by tall, three-armed, cast-iron candelabras.
The focal point of Gamborg Fjord Manor is a beautiful 2,250 sqft in-door tropical pool, spa, and sauna facility, with arches, sculptures, and 44 Byzantine marble columns. The pool measures 750 sqft and the spa is a 6-person hot tub. Entering through a hallway, you arrive at dining room/kitchen combination (400 sqft) with a view to an exotic Japanese garden. A stairway brings you up to a nicely and tastefully furnished living room (1,290 sqft) with a stunning view of Gamborg Fjord. Six large bedrooms (five at 190+ sqft and one at 215 sqft) each come with a double bed and private bath (toilet, sink, and shower). Five of the bedrooms are on the ground floor with French doors opening to the park and one is on the first floor.

Known as the Garden of Denmark, pastoral and picturesque Funen is Denmark's second-largest island. Aero, Langeland, and Taasinge are three of the most popular of the nearby 90 islands. The rural scenery of these islands, with their thatched farmhouses and quaint windmills scattered around the landscape, has an irresistible charm that has remained unchanged for centuries.
An easy daytrip away is the country's capital, Copenhagen. A one thousand-year history written by ambitious kings, inspiring artists and celebrated designers awaits you in the medieval streets, 17th-century canals and modernist architecture of Copenhagen.
From its origin as a humble fishing village to its heyday as the glittering capital of the Danish empire, to its current position as one of the world's premier design capitals and Scandinavia's pre-eminent city, the stories and characters of Copenhagen's history are there to be discovered in its beautiful palaces, cathedrals, towers, canals, and atmospheric cobbled squares.
