Kensington

Towards the western part of London is the area of Kensington, a popular metropolitan area filled to the brim with history, culture and art. Visitors to this area will constantly be intrigued by what this area of the city has to offer.

There is a strip of museums in the area whose collections ranging from natural treasures to works of art. For those who want to view finds of the natural world, ranging from a giant squid to the remains of whale who had ventured into the Thames River, be sure to visit the Natural History Museum. Adjacent to this is the Victoria and Albert Museum that has one of the the largest collections of decorative arts ranging from ceramics to textiles and jewelry spanning across the centuries. The final museum in this string is the Science Museum which houses a number of items that detail modern scientific advancements. Another place that can be visited in the area is the Kensington Palace, which has been the home of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and in which the State Rooms can be visited.

Kensington has many sites of interest for the intellectually curious and will keep them busy during their vacation.
