An outstanding modern Manor House
in riding country near Lisbon
A large recently constructed quinta, across the river from Lisbon, where the horse lover will be in their element.
The host is one of the countries leading horsemen and surrounding the farm are stables, the breeding of horses and a polo ground.
Within the grounds of the house, there is a beautifully tiled swimming pool surrounded by extensive well kept lawns and gardens with many shady trees. Overlooking the gardens and pool there is an extensive terrace where the owners serve breakfast in summer and where an evening drink can be enjoyed. The servants will serve pool side snacks during the day.
The house has 5 beautiful, large bedrooms all with private bathrooms and there also a single bedroom. A small bedroom suitable for two children is also available.
The main lounge is available for the use of guests and a dining room where evening meals are served on request.
Beautiful and comfortable, the present owners rebuilt the farm from the original foundations and it has all the modern luxuries including central heating for winter visits.
The quinta is on a 'herdade' which is the Portuguese for a very large farming estate where guests may use bicycles or scooters to visit the various equestrian and farming activities.
The modern road system installed for Expo'98 has resulted in
excellent road connections to the old towns and the golf courses to the north of Lisbon and also to the beautiful Setubal Peninsular with it Natural Park and sandy coves.
The owner is very well known in the world of horse riding and wine trade and the house forms an excellent venue for a prestigious business meeting and dinner for up to 16 persons.
The house is convenient for Lisbon over the new Vasco de Gama bridge which incidentally has entered the Guinness Book of Records for being the location for the longest sit down meal in the world (the service must have been slow!)
