Property Description
The buildings are arranged around the base of the 14th-15th century fortified tower, now the kitchen, where justice was meted out - hence the name 'Juste'.
At the side of the main house is the small family chapel which is used for family weddings, christenings etc. Although there are many requests for its use from people living in the locality due to its beautiful
setting.
In the courtyard at the back of the main house, there is a an attractive formal garden full of flowers and shrubs with a stream running down the centre. Looking onto this delightful garden is a restored cottage with five bedrooms and a large living room and a kitchenette. All the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.
Facing onto the higher lawn there is a second newly restored house looking across the lawn to the swimming pool. This house has four bedrooms, all with ensuite bathroom, lounge with an open fireplace, a kitchen and a bar area. The bedrooms may be rented on an individual basis if required.
In the main house there is one guest bedroom with ensuite bathroom. During your visit you must visit the traditional Portuguese kitchen with slate floor recently restored using the slate cutting table tops from an old local textile factory. It is an excellent example of how to combine the ease of modern facilities with the special flavours achieved when using charcoal burning ovens.
Casa de Juste is convenient for the new golf course at Amarante at which guests receive a discount on green fees on weekdays. Two kilometres away is a riding school where horses may be hired. Also in the locality, there is an aqua park, clay pigeon shooting and a go-cart circuit.
There are also bicycles at the house for the use of guests.
The house in conveniently situated for Porto airport with almost the whole journey being by modern motorway.
