Hyères is one of the loveliest towns on the Côte d’Azur, with long palm-lined streets of elegant Victorian villas (a reminder of the fact that Hyères was the first town on the Côte to be discovered by the English in the nineteenth century). The center of the town is a medieval market place with colorful shops and stalls selling all Provençale specialties and above the town is the famous castle Ste Claire where concerts and other open air events are held throughout the summer months.
Coastal day trips from Hyères include the local islands (frequent ferry crossings), St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo. Easily accessible inland are Aix-en-Provence, Cotignac, Lorgues, Tourtour, and the other hill villages of the Haut Var.
Our villa is on the most privileged site of a private domain overlooking the sea, outside the town of Hyères. It is surrounded by 100 year old pine trees, flowering mimosa, and a well established garden. There are magical views of the sea and the three islands off the coast.
Close to the villa are two tennis courts, which can be used by our guests(no charge). Surrounded by a great deal of green space and woodlan the villa is very peaceful and quiet, even in mid-summer.
