SUMMER SPORTS
Trout Fishing: All levels of experience can be accommodated. Fly-casting lessons can be arranged. Fish the Bitterroot River or take an excursion into the wilderness with a local guide.
Trout Fishing for Kids: The kids can do their own trout fishing at a nearby trout farm that welcomes children. A nominal fee is charged per "lunker".
Mountain Hiking: The Alpine Meadows Ranch adjoins the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area -- so just pack up your back pack and traipse out the back door! Or take advantage of the trails in Montana's many parks. Summer hiking paths and a network of abandoned logging roads become your own "personal" course.
River Rafting: Rafting is scheduled with local outfitters and takes place on the meandering Bitterroot River or the exciting Selway River.
Badminton & Croquet: Can be arranged for fun right at the Ranch. Indoor/outdoor badminton available.
Swimming & Innertubing: Go for a swim at Como Lake or float on an innertube down the Bitterroot River. Take your pick! Innertubing is also available on the stream that flows through the Ranch.
Horseback Riding: Horseback riding is available very closeby and exists in abundance throughout the valley. We can also accommodate your own horses should you wish to bring them. Guided trail riding trips into the variety of wilderness areas found both near and far are also available.
Golfing: Available nearby.
Basketball: Indoor court available.
WINTER SPORTS
Downhill Skiing: Yes, you can downhill ski in Big Sky Country. The Lost Trails downhill ski facility is just a 30 minute drive away, and Big Mountain and Sun Valley are within driving distance.
Cross-Country Skiing: Imagine cross-country skiing from your lodgings at the Alpine Meadows Ranch directly into the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area. Groomed trails are available at Lost Trails.
Snowshoeing: If you haven't tried it, it is a lot of fun!
Snowmobiling and ATVs: We can arrange it advance for either.
Winter Horseback Riding: No need to let a little wintry weather get between you and your horseback riding. Horseback riding is available close by and exists in abundance throughout the valley. However, we can also accommodate your own horses should you wish to bring them.
Sledding: A great family activity! We have a nice slope that will provide lots of fun for everyone.
