The HOTEL LEGEND is located at the highest point of the Goréme valley in Cappadocia and is extremely well situated to visit this part of Turkey which is still little known and thankfully unspoilt but yet is one of the world's most ancient inhabited regions.
This very special area was formed many millions of years ago when it experienced fierce volcanic activity with lava, ash and basalt being thrown far and wide. From this beginning, the region evolved situated on a plateau formed by the accummulation of volcanic ash. This slowly over millions of years developed into "tufa" - the surface of this became hard on contact with the air whilst the interior remained soft. As time passed and erosion took place these very unusual structures were formed with the softer parts being eroded whilst the harder tops remained, hence the formation of the "fairy chimneys" which are seen today.
The whole area offers amazing scenery, a wealth of history and culture plus a most friendly and hospitable people proud of their heritage. It attracts not only visitors with historic and religious interests but is also perfect for people just wanting to visit somewhere which is completely different, to walk, to pursue special interests or just to relax in the calm and tranquillity of the scenery.
Why not visit now before the rest of the world discovers this beautiful area?
