A Luxury Vacation Rental on Mexico's Mayan Riviera. All rooms have views of the Caribbean Sea
The House of the Rising Sun – a spacious Akumal beach-front vacation home designed by its owners in the spirit of “Homes of the Yucatan” and built by a local Architect.
Each bedroom has a Balcony and a direct view of the Caribbean Sea.
Outdoor living areas include an architecturally stunning 55-foot lap pool, with a grand stone patio for sunning. There is a shaded outdoor dining table to seat 16 and a beach-front Palapa for massages or lounging in a hammock.
General Vacation Rental Layout:
Tthe Villa is a two-story concrete structure with natural limestone flooring on the first floor and hand-made terra-cotta floor on the second floor. There is a rooftop seating area for star gazing and sunset cocktails.
The first floor has an open-floor design and includes:
· Entrance Foyer with a local limestone surfaced wall
· 2-story brick-domed main foyer
· Large kitchen area with a pantry and two sinks
· Lava-rock breakfast counter and bar with a brick-arched lit ceiling that can accommodate 10 people
· Living room with Satellite TV DVD/VCR and music system
· Master Bedroom suite with a four-poster king bed, a private bathroom w/shower and a personal entrance to the pool waterfall
· Separate Bathroom designed with local river rocks
The second floor has a large foyer with an indigenous stone limestone wall, overlooking the ocean through a window wall of glass. The brick-domed open space area adjoins the four bedrooms on this floor.
The Kitchen is equipped with two sinks and appliances that include an oven, a toaster oven, a microwave and a blender. Upon arrival, refrigerator is stocked with Soft Drinks and Cold Beer. Condiments and cooking staples such as sugar, salt, spices, sauces etc. are replenished by the staff. Restaurant quality dishes and utensils are provided. Bottled drinking water is provided and refreshed daily by the staff. Chef service is available upon request – to be coordinated with the Hospitality Manager.
The Living Room has a seating and entertainment area. The living room has TV with satellite service that includes American News channels as well as several movie channels. The entertainment center also allows viewing the library of 30 DVDs and VCR videos. Music CD’s are played on a 5-Disc changer with four sets of inside and outside speakers.
Indoor Dining Room: You may choose to eat family meals in two places. In the Red walled dining room with a Balinese Hardwood table which seats 10 people or you may choose to dine outdoors.
Outdoors Dining Table: On a moonlit night or a breezy afternoon choose to be outside at the polished-concrete dining table inset with local rocks. Seating banquettes accommodate 14 people. Placemats, tablecloths and candles are provided.
Outdoor Barbecue Grill Fresh Fish or a meat of your choice on the built-in charcoal barbecue –next to the outdoor dining area.
Casa Del Sol Naciente has a 55-foot lap pool. The pool is perfect for family play, lounging in the water and…. for Swimming laps. At the end of the lap pool is a tiled bench with a waterfall cascade for all to enjoy.
The outdoor Shower is a work of art, made of pickled driftwood found on the beach. It will await you when you return from a snorkel swim in the ocean with a fresh bar of soap next to Swimming Pool.
Ocean Kayaking: On calm days you may take out the two 2-person ocean kayaks….. the water is transparent you can just see the fish and the coral reef from the surface… You can go out there and catch a wave passing the Riviera Maya reef as it reaches for the beach. For snorkeling – Jade Beach is a “fish hotel” – please be respectful in the water as it is a living reef.
There is one Bedroom downstairs and four Bedrooms upstairs, all with televisions and all designed with unique Mayan architectural elements. Casa del Sol Naciente can sleep 10 to 12 people. The Casa is designed to be both quiet and private with thick concrete walls and solid wooden doors to respect your privacy. Four bedrooms have King Sized Beds and one Bedroom has two double beds. All bedrooms have Hair Dryers for your use. Soaps and Shampoo are provided. Fresh drinking water is replenished daily.
The Poolside Bedroom Suite is on the ground floor and has a King sized four-poster bed made from local Tree trunks. This suite has its own entrance directly into the swimming pool area with a direct Caribbean view. This suite has a shower in the private bathroom.
The Sunrise Master Suite has a king-size bed with a brick domed headboard designed with river rocks and a view of the ocean in two directions. Sliding glass doors open to a balcony with four Teak Steamer Lounger chairs. The Marble bathtub made of Ticul stone is large enough to accommodate two people.
The Sunset Master Suite has a King sized Wood Bed made from local Tree trunks. This suite has an ocean view and a Hammock on the balcony overlooking the pool below. This suite has a full length mirror framed in local hardwood. The Marble bathtub-shower in the private bathroom has a glass brick ceiling.
The Playa Suite has a King size Bed with a Brick dome with an inset of reading lights. The closet has mirrored doors to reflect the ocean view from your bed. The sliding glass doors open to the exterior covered balcony for a place to sit and read. The bedroom has a sink basin en suite and shares a bathroom with the Double Bed Bedroom next door.
The Moonrise Suite has Two Double Beds. This bedroom has two Mosquito net canopies and a balcony with a view of the ocean. The room was designed to accommodate a person who wants his/her own bed or for a Nanny traveling with children. The two beds can accommodate four children. There is a separate sink in this room and a large closet.
Roof top Bed The rooftop bed takes a Double Bed sized air mattress and can be made up with sheets to sleep under the stars and the moon, if you desire.
