Villa Maria Vittoria is an ancient estate mentioned in a document written in Lucca the 1st of November 988. The estate is described as a house with a mill, part of the properties of the parish of Sugromigno, nowaday named Segromigno.
The later restructuring dates back to the end of the 16th century with an olive oil mill taking the place of the old flour mill. The wheel that moved the machineries can be found today in the famous Pinocchio Park in Collodi, nearby.
