The state is well known for natural resources, the desert, and for its wonderful tourist opportunities. In the north of the State is the Vizcaíno Desert, as well as the small coastal lakes of San Ignacio and Ojo de Liebre, which are protected by the federal government. The northern part of the state also includes the wonderful and desolate tourist spots of Mulege, Bahia Concepcion & Loreto. Further south towards the tip of Baja is the East Cape, famous for world class diving and sailboarding. The East Cape is home to Los Barriles and Cabo Pulmo. At the very tip of Baja California Sure sits the world famous resort area of Los Cabos, the place where San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are located.
