BlueView is a charming private vacation cottage on a green hillside overlooking the blue Atlantic on the island of Eleuthera. Only a few minutes walk from deserted beaches and rugged limestone cliffs, this secluded one-bedroom retreat has expansive decks, spectacular views and few neighbors.

BlueView is conveniently located at Rainbow Bay, 16 miles north of Governor's Harbour, the capital of Eleuthera, and eight miles north of the airport. This area of green hills has few homes and affords remarkable views and a high level of privacy.

You will find a comfortable air-conditioned living/dining area with wide unobstructed views of the beautiful Atlantic, one bedroom and spacious upper and lower decks for outdoor relaxation. Designed for a couple, a queen-size sofa bed in the living area will permit up to four guests. A bathroom with a shower and a fully equipped kitchen complete the plan. Bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, clothes washer, snorkeling gear, fishing rods with equipment, tennis racquets and two adult bicycles are provided. There is also a hammock for BlueView's lovely tropical garden, an outdoor shower, barbeque grill and a collection of books, games, videos, CDs and satellite TV for quiet entertainment.

One of the great pleasures on Eleuthera is exploring the many beaches and unique island villages, so a car is a must. We can arrange a competitive rental rate for our guests.

One of the Bahamas' sparsely populated "Out Islands", only an hour by air from Miami, Eleuthera is a 110-mile long oasis of gin-clear water, pink sand beaches, uncrowded tropical beauty and unhurried days. The island is less than a half-mile wide in the Rainbow Bay area, with the sparkling blue Atlantic on one side and the turquoise Caribbean on the other.

Within minutes of BlueView there are three beautiful, secluded beaches on the Atlantic and one on the Caribbean side of the island, the closest less than a five minute walk. If seas on one side of the island are rough, the other side is usually calm and, because crowds are unknown on Eleuthera, you will often find you have the beach entirely to yourself.

You won't find casinos, neon, crowds or nightlife to speak of, and noise is limited to the constant sound of ocean and trade winds. You can easily make day trips to Victorian-influenced Dunmore Town on historic Harbour Island in the north, or to quaint fishing villages of Tarpum Bay and Rock Sound in the south of the island. If you just have to have some world-class nightlife, Nassau's casinos and shopping are just two hours west by scheduled high-speed ferry from Governor's Harbour or Harbour Island, or 20 minutes by air shuttle.

Beaches, snorkeling, diving, surfing, fishing and boating are all popular year-around thanks to the warm tropical climate. Scuba diving, in particular, is superlative in the Bahamas and Surfer's Beach, three miles north of BlueView, is a highly-rated competitive surfing venue.

Or, if you wish, you can just fix a cool drink, grab a comfortable lounge chair on the deck, and marvel at the endlessly changing shades of blue of the tropical ocean below you.
