Situated in the hills about 8 km west of Florence.
Limoneto is a small, independent house for 2 people. It is situated next to a lovely renaissance villa in a large garden. This little house is antique the former villa lemon house a winter home for the lemon trees. It has been lovingly transfigured and furnished as a particularly atmospheric vacation apartment with tasteful furnishings and modern comforts. The large windows flood the rooms with light a necessary factor for storing plants over winter. Curtains shade the visitors from too much light and provide privacy.
has been furnished with great care a good balance between modern design and rustic elements. The ambience is young and sporty: whitewashed walls, clear blue fabrics contrasting well with the warmth of the terracotta floor. The long room has been divided into different areas which are cleverly separated from one another: the kitchenette is well equipped and can be hidden behind a blind; a dining area follows, with a long wooden table and then we reach a sitting room area with open fireplace. The sleeping area with double bed is hidden behind a large cupboard, with the bathroom beyond this. The high, open-plan roof makes the room seem even larger. All three windows are also glass doors which open directly onto the lawn.
Limoneto is a very romantic place to stay. It is ideally situated. You approach the house by driving up the green hills above Florence. Cypresses flank the last part of the drive. The beautiful, antique stone steps leading to the entrance remind one of stylish and upper-class historical country estates. Indeed the whole property is clearly and neatly arranged. Once you have passed through the entrance you see a large plateau: a long courtyard with a neat lawn and, beyond this, the elegant 15th century villa. Lemon trees in large clay pots adorn the lawn.
The lemon house is next to the villa but set slightly further back, providing ample privacy. There is a private patio for the guests directly in front of the small house. Here you can enjoy outdoor meals and wonderful views. You see the neat lawn with its two-hundred year old oaks in the background. There is a seat near the trees, with a magnificent panoramic view of Florence: the town is way down in the valley, the silvery river meanders through it and the cathedral dome can be clearly seen, standing out against the rest of the town. The two mighty trees border this view like a picture frame. If you look to the right from your patio, you will see a valley with olive trees, cypresses, a small village church and chains of hills, in the distance. All in all, the views are a real pleasure wherever you look. Peace and tranquility are guaranteed.
The lemon house has room for 2 people. If you are travelling in a group of three or four people a double room with bathroom can be rented in the villa. This double room is only available in combination with Limoneto you are the only guests on the property. The pool is about 150 m from the house, in the middle of an olive grove. The pool is shared with the owners. It is bordered with gray stone which matches the silvery-gray color of the olive trees. Even from the water you are able to enjoy the view over the valley to the silhouette of Florence, in the distance.
