Eureka’s Clarke Memorial Museum is home to a wide variety of Native American baskets and mementos, and similar artifacts are available to Fort Humboldt State Historic Park, a nineteenth century outpost that once housed Ulysses S. Grant.

The Carson Mansion, alleged to be the most photographed Victorian home in America, is also part of Eureka’s unique appeal, standing three stories tall and holding eighteen rooms. Another reminder of the influence of timber barons on Eureka can be seen the nearby Pink Lady, yet another expression of classic Victorian architecture. Visitors to Eureka should also visit the Morris Graves Museum of Art, the “Booklegger”, and the historic downtown region.
