When the plane touches ground, my heart takes a leap! Finally, we are in London. My first impression as we approach our rental flat is sheer delight as it looks and feels like "Ye Ole London".

The street is lined with beautiful old oak trees. The entrance to our flat has a canopy covered with grape vine.

Our flat is on the first floor which is only one short walk up an elegant old curved staircase. The reception room is very spacious and tastefully decorated in neutral colors with very comfortable furniture. The windows are decorated with colorful wall to ceiling drapes out onto Holland Park Road.

The ceilings in the flat are very high giving it a lively feeling of space and elegance. There is a desk sitting in the corner with a computer with internet access allowing us to stay home rather than search for an internet cafe. The kitchen is separate from the living area. It has an old fashioned window which over looks Holland Park Road.

The kitchen is fully equipped and immaculate. The bathrooms are large, bright and very clean. The bathtub is deep and room with a power shower. The bathroom cupboards are stocked with large fluffy towels. The master bedroom has a large double bed made up with fresh linens and down-filled comforter. The street below is Elsham Road and is very quiet at night. The second bedroom has bunk beds which can fit kids or adults alike. The beds are made up with bright linens and comforters. What a lovely, cozy flat. Certainly this will be our home away from home.!

For fancier boutiques; walk to Kensington High Street and Notting Hill Gate. Grab a cab or take the underground and in minutes you are in the West End London, called the Theatre District.

Moments away is Holland Park and nearby is Hyde Park. Why not visit the free serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park.

The Royal Albert Hall, The British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Museum of Natural History are so close by.

Notting Hill Gate in walking distance has many pubs, clubs and restaurants. Just down the street from the flat is a typical English Pub serving up the classic fish and chips. The Kensington Palace, the former home of Princess Diana is in waling distance from the flat. David Lloyds Health Club is close to Earls Court.
