Best bets for warm February weather activities in Miami

Mornings are pleasantly cool, as are evenings. But since it never gets extremely hot on a February afternoon in Miami, all systems are go for any outdoor adventures. Golf and tennis are favorites for all age groups. With relatively low humidity, thanks, in part, to gentle breezes, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a good workout in a kayak or on a bike. Boaters have a wide choice of waterways to navigate. An afternoon sail along Biscayne Bay comes with a priceless bonus - a sunset that goes from vivid to pastel in a magical matter of moments. Anglers can also choose their hot fishing spot close to shore or out in the deep, where charter boats regularly take tourists and come back with a magnificent blue marlin. Since both the air and water temperatures are temperate in February, all water sports would be enjoyable. Swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling and parasailing are popular among locals and visitors alike. Paddle boarding and jet skiing are fun ways to maneuver over the warm water.

Vacation Planning Tips:

Since many schools in the northern U.S. are closed for a week in celebration of Presidents Day, it would be wise to book accommodations early. Winter coats won’t be needed, but a sweatshirt or light jacket for an evening walk on the beach is a good idea. Since the climate in February is absolutely divine, it could be the right time to take up a new outdoor sport or start a mild exercise program on the beach that will be a successful battle against the bulge.
