Best bets for warm November weather activities in Miami-

From water sports at popular beaches to hiking and biking along paths less traveled, the options for how to spend a fabulous November day in Miami are infinite. With temperate temperatures and comfortable humidity, 18 holes of golf or a couple of hours on the tennis court are not that taxing, leaving lots of energy for an evening of dining and dancing or a romantic stroll along the shore.

Birdwatchers and other nature lovers and eco tourists should consider a visit to one of South Florida’s parks and nature centers that are known for their wide variety of native and visiting birds and other wildlife, too. Some top choices close to Miami include the Anne Kolb Nature Center at West Lake Park in Hollywood and Greynolds Park in North Miami Beach. Among the feathered creatures commonly spotted are plovers, great egrets, white ibis, blue herons, double-crested cormorants and roseate spoonbills.

Sport fishing out in the deep Atlantic gets really exciting in November. Sailfish, swordfish and kingfish catches become more common this time of year. For those wishing to stay closer to shore, fly fishing for bonefish, snapper and grouper in Biscayne Bay is very successful in late autumn.

Vacation Planning Tips:

Anyone planning a Thanksgiving week visit should book accommodations as early as possible to avoid disappointment. If Black Friday shopping is a traditional thing to do post turkey day, a trip to Aventura or one of many of the other metro Miami malls and big box stores should result in finding lots of bargains and crossing off some names on the holiday gift list. While the weather is usually warm, a light jacket or sweater might come in handy in the evening. Those who expect to check out the scene at South Beach’s trendiest clubs or upscale restaurants anywhere in the area should pack some nicer outfits for those special occasions. While the weather in Miami is not sizzling hot in November, the sun is still strong. Using sunscreen and sunglasses offer good protection..
