Burgundy France
Property # 8495

Property Description
Les Lavandes, is a beautiful timber framed 18th century house located in South Burgundy, France.
It is situated in a peaceful countryside setting 4 kilometres from the village of Savigny En Revermont which has a butcher, baker, hairdresser, chemist's shop and post office. From the outdoor dining area, on the frontage of the house, there are extensive views to the foothills of the Jura. You can look across to distant vineyards and tiny white church spires whilst enjoying fresh baguettes with local cheeses and meats.

The house was once owned by a count and countess but is now the family home of English owners, Catherine and Colin, who run painting holidays and bed and breakfast all year round.

Les Lavandes is located between the medieval market town of Louhans and the more sophisticated town of Lons Le Saunier. Both towns hold a market once a week where fresh vegetables and locally produced cheeses and breads are sold.

This region is very diverse with ancient vineyards, villages with stunning architecture, turquoise lakes and bustling market towns. The local caves sell excellent wines and are open for wine tasting through out the year.

All these places can be easily accessed from Les Lavandes.
