This 47 square meter (506 square feet), one-bedroom apartment is situated on the top floor of what was once a gracious 19th century private mansion, and now a small-scale, beautifully preserved apartment building with an elegant entrance, offers sweeping views over the rooftops of Paris.

Windows occupy an entire wall of this charming flat, providing glorious light and the Eiffel Tower silhouetted against a sweeping expanse of sky.

That sense of hovering in the clouds above the city and the apartment’s perfect location - a block from the Seine River and the Invalides; a stone’s throw from one of Paris’s best outdoor markets, the Rue Cler; mere minutes from the Champs-Elysées and Saint Germain-des-Près, and just a quick jog to the Champ de Mars Park and the Eiffel Tower - make this apartment better than ideal.

Perched just under the roof of this lovely rococo building on the fifth floor - an elevator takes you to the fourth floor and then you climb a small staircase - this newly renovated apartment boasts clean, graphic lines.

A perfect flat for a couple (the bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed -- with a firm mattress), the L-shaped living/dining room has a couch which can open up to comfortably sleep two more people. The bathroom has a spacious shower and a separate toilet. And gourmet cooks will find the contemporary, streamlined kitchen, which opens onto the living/dining area without actually being part of it, is fully equipped, with a real oven, microwave, food processor, etc. There is also a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer.

The dining area's architect-designed oak table seats four, but unfolds to easily seat six to eight on chic wrought iron and bamboo chairs. When you don’t feel like cooking, just step outside the door: some of Paris's finest eateries - from quaint corner cafés to homey bistros to Michelin-star-ranked restaurants - are all within walking distance. And for evenings just spent relaxing at home, the apartment is equipped with a television-cum-video (which can "read" US, British, and European cassettes in addition to cable TV).

This pied-à-terre combines a great location with spectacular views, light, and charm, and also provides a wonderful feeling of calm and intimacy - right in the Heart of Paris's Left Bank. Closest metro stations are Pont de l'Alma and Invalides.

We loved your apartment at 8, rue du Colonel Combes. What a perfect location: walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and Invalides. Often cooking in using the wonderful, fresh foods available at the nearby rue Cler open air markets, saved at least 50 Euros a day! You provided all the comforts of home, including a really good mattress. When we needed help, you were supportive beyond expectations. We hope to return and stay with you again. We highly recommend you to all our friends.

My friend Janet and I enjoyed meeting you and were impressed with the remodeling you did on the apartment. The location of the apartment is wonderful as it was within walking distance to many of the areas we wanted to go to. It's close proximity to two metro lines made going everywhere we needed to go in the city and even the countryside accessible… The apartment was very quiet and we felt very safe in the security-coded building. The neighborhood is near the Rue Cler, which makes getting groceries and necessities effortless. Walid was always available by telephone for questions while we were there. The apartment provided all of the provisions of home--washer & drier, full kitchen, and all of the amenities of home without all of the work. We prepared many meals effortlessly in the kitchen and enjoyed eating them with our view of the top of the Eiffel Tower out the window. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment.

Our stay at Rue du Colonel Combes was, relaxing, affordable, and memorable. We had all the comforts of home but with better-tasting groceries a block away (including one of the best bakeries in Paris), a stunning view of the Eiffel tower, and a charming and accommodating landlord. We loved the 7th, too: quiet, residential, full of parks, yet accessible via bus or foot to everything.
Renting online was a little scary for us. We had heard plenty of horror stories. But, we were delighted and relieved to see that the apartment was exactly as advertised. The sun filled the apartment during the day (as promised), the newly refurbished bathroom and gourmet kitchen were state of the art (as described) and we were welcomed like old friends (which was more than we expected).

My husband and I loved this apartment with great views of the Eiffel Tower and just a few minutes walk to the wonderful Rue Cler with all the open air markets.It is also a great location for an evening stroll along the Seine. Can't wait to go back again
