“Sails” is an ideal romantic escape for honeymooners or the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation with family and friends. It is a spectacular contemporary, private home designed by the renowned Costa Rican architect, Victor Cañas. The property consists of a main house ("Sails") and a separately accessed, private Guest House.

Every room offers extraordinary views of the ocean and islands of the Gulf of Papagayo and the award winning beach of El Ocotal is just a 3 minute walk away through the grounds.

El Ocotal is a gated community surrounding an award-winning crescent-shaped beach. There are 4 restaurants in Ocotal and the colorful town of Playas del Coco is just 3 kms. away. "Sails" is situated just 30 minutes from Liberia International Airport. The colonial city of Liberia, more than 10 beaches, and 3 major volcanoes are all within easy reach.

Accommodations: Main House can accommodate 6 – 8 people. All bedrooms have a fan and an air-conditioning unit.

Bedrooms: The master bedroom is accessed by a glass bridge that spans the interior garden, and has a 270° vista over the ocean and surrounding hillsides. There is a balcony with alcove seating, en suite bathroom and a large walk-in dressing room, furnished in cedar.

The upstairs guest bedroom overlooks the living room, terraces, and swimming pool as well as the ocean and gardens. It has its own en suite bathroom and a Julietta balcony.

The third bedroom is reached through the indoor garden and has garden and ocean views and a tranquil private terrace. It has its own bathroom and cable TV & DVD.

Office: Accessed from the bridge; high speed internet access and working area.

Living Areas: The open-plan layout creates a feeling of spaciousness and tranquility. The floor-to-ceiling windows can be opened up completely, making the whole terrace and swimming pool accessible from each part of the living, dining and kitchen areas.

The fully equipped kitchen has two bars: one opening to the dining room and the other opening to the garden and barbeque area.

Guest House: For a more affordable option, the separate 3 bedroom Guest House is available. Built in the same architectural style, each room has its own en suite bathroom, deck, ocean views and pool access plus cable T.V., A/C, Fan and Internet access. Each room can be rented separately or the whole house may be rented as a unit. The central living room includes a queen-size futon, and a kitchenette with refrigerator, 2 ring burner, toaster oven, microwave, coffee machine and all cutlery, dishes, saucepans etc.

Pool & Gardens: The lush tropical gardens are home to colorful birds, including parrots and hummingbirds, and are visited by families of monkeys. Soak up the sun on the terraces or cool off in the out-sized infinity pool that juts out over the Pacific Ocean, just 600 feet away.

“Sails” is situated just 3 minutes walk from Ocotal beach, known for its beauty and clear waters. A variety of water-sports are available: snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, sailing, boating, jet-ski and water-skiing. There are 2 restaurants on the beach and another at Playa Azul, also just a 5 minute walk away.

GUEST HOUSE:: The Guest House is a separate unit, designed by the same architect in the style as the main house. It has its own private entrance and is comprised of 3 bedrooms, each of which has lovely ocean views from the room and from its own private deck accessed from full size panoramic sliding doors. Each room has its own bathroom, air conditioning, central fan and cable t.v.

The Annex can be rented as a self-contained unit, or each room may be rented separately or in combination with another.

Playa Ocotal offers diving, snorkeling, sailing, deep-sea fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, hiking and bird-watching. Tennis is available close by.

The beach is a 3 minute walk away, as are 3 restaurants; El Ocotal Beach resort also has a restaurant and bar, with lovely sunset views.

The village of Playas del Coco, which has a variety of shops, restaurants, night-clubs, internet cafes, banks, a supermarket and a post office is just 3 kms. away.

Day trips from Ocotal include: Volcan Rincon de la Vieja, Santa Rosa National Park, Llanos de Cortez Waterfall, Palo Verde National Park and a series of playas such as Hermosa, Panama, Conchal and Tamarindo.
