Villa for 6 people in a charming medieval Ligurian village on the border with Tuscany close to the Cinque Terre.
Villa La Rocca stands on the green hills between Liguria and Tuscany, close to the world-famous area of the “Cinque Terre,” in the enchanting medieval village of Nicola di Ortonovo, surrounded by olive-groves and chestnut trees.
Historical documents witness the existence of the original tower since the XI century in a dominant position above the ancient city of Luni.
The landscape is wonderful, while the view, stretching from the Apuan Alps to the sea is breathtaking, with the island of Corsica on the horizon. An inviting atmosphere and old-fashioned perfumes will induce you to spend your holiday observing the rhythms of nature.
The property has recently been restored respecting the original structure.
Villa la Rocca is on three levels with a panoramic terrace overlooking the Tirrenian coast. Newly furnished in confortable style, it boasts some antique pieces.
Peace and privacy are totally guaranteed.
On the ground floor there is the entrance way, a large living and dining room with fireplace and a country-slyle kitchen ( fully equipped ).
On the first floor is another entrance(the main one), and second large living room (with TV sat and CD player) with a panoramic terrace leading to a small tower which hosts a romantic double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
On the second floor there is a little living room, an old-style double bedroom, a twin room and a bathroom with tub and shower.
At your disposal: cell phone, embroidered towels in the bathrooms, beach towels, breakfast on the day of arrival and fruits, wine and oil from the property.
Due its location in a medieval village, this villa has no garden. Instead there is a delighful panoramic terrace which is quite breathtaking. The village is very quite. No traffic noise can be heard as the village was laid out 100 years ago and the streets are too narrow for the car to enter. The access road stops at the entrance to the village (where the nearest car park is) with views of the seaside, of the mountains and of the hamlet, which is only accessible by walking along a path, through stairs and arches. In the village there are two restaurants, a bar and a shop selling staple foods.
From Villa La Rocca you can be easily reach places of great tourist interest like Cinque Terre, the Golfo dei Poeti, Portovenere and Portofino, the Apuan Alps and the white marble quarries of Carrara. Moreover, it is not far from historical and artistic locations, from medieval castles in Lunigiana to the Roman Amphitheater in Luni.
Villa La Rocca is 40 minutes from Lucca, 30 minutes from Pisa and 1 hour away from Florence Firenze by car. In the other direction, Genova can be reached in 1 hour passing by Portofino on the way. Villa La Rocca is only a few kilometres from Versilia and its luxurious sandy beaches.
Boats to Cinque Terre, Portovenere and Portofino depart from Marina di Carrara, 8 Km away.
Nerby, the " Muraglione club" offers swimming pools and tennis courts.( 4 km)
