OUTDOORSThe English gardenfree in its appearance and order contrasted with the formal rigid and geometrical style which was typical of the Italian renaissance and baroque periodwas introduced by the French architects in their home country as the original French gardenthe prototype being the abundant Park of the Versailles Palace.

Della Nave Park was built in the second half of the 19th century and became part of the landscape gardens which arose in Italy from the late 18th to the late 19th centurya period when this widespread style of garden was known as the English or Naturalistic one.
Very widespread in this era and of great interest to collectors was that they used a great number of special vegetationusually exhotic. It was in fact in fashion to create Exhotic botanical gardens and the Parco Della Nave is a symbolic example with its rare and extremely interesting Botanical collection.
BOTANICAL COLLECTIONS

The plants found commonly today in the garden were to become an integral part of the Tuscan landscape.
Indeedthe owner Ferdinando Della Navea botanical expert and the creator and designer of the parkrestored good relationships with other passionate and celebrated botanics of the period. They were either Florentines (Mercatelli) or foreigners but above all EnglishBelgian and French (Vilmorin).
In the Parco Della Nave the predominant style of the collection is testimonial to the considerable amount of species of trees found (120)not to mention the high number (the long-trunked trees alone are more than 700). Plants come from all over the world and today can be found in specialist nurseries; however at the time when the park was built they were rare and difficult to find.

His scientific background and his intuition allowed them to use the most suitable plants either foreign or local for the pedological and climatic conditions. He dedicated his life to the most interesting Botanical collections not to mention a park so exclusive and refined in a relatively extensive space (around 32 000mq). APARTMENT LUIGI
