Our home in Atenas, is Bali-style on a ridge above the jungle with wonderful views of the mountain ranges. The house is fully furnished. Its designed to be a relaxing retreat. It has 2 bedrooms and a master sweet. 2 bathrooms, an infinity pool great for doing short laps and a lovely deck and tropical gardens. From the deck you look out over jungle and mountain ranges and into the favorite toucan watching trees. The master-bedroom is spacous and have great views on 2 sides with a privet courtyard. There is a indoor laundry room. Two coock top one gas and on electric.

Atenas is 45 minutes from the San Jose airport and 45 mins to 1 hour from the beach. It is a laid-back town with several good restaurants and a great Friday fruit and vegetable market. National Geographic claims that Atenas has the best climate in the world. There is no need for either heating or cooling - and our house is designed so that it can be open air all the time.

The house is on a hill-top 2 kilometres from Atenas, an agricultural town (lots of coffee plantations and orchid farms) of about 20, 000 people. From our house and deck you can see many fabulous birds including the toucans that visit mornings. In the rainy season when it generally rains in the afternoons you can see howler monkeys, sloths hanging out in the trees below us, maybe white-faced monkeys in the jungle below and many other types of wildlife too. There is so much here you never know what you may see!

San Jose (and its upscale suburb of Escazu), just 45 minutes away, is a sophisticated area of fabulous restaurants and boutiques, English language bookstores and movies, and all the culture you could possibly want. Within an hour or two of our house we have beaches, volcanoes, rain forests, several interesting cities, incredible plant nurseries and nature preserves. If you're looking for places to go and things to do while in Costa Rica you can hire your own personal tour guide which also happens to be our personal friend.

We have found no better place to rest and relax than here in Atenas. In our development there are people from many different countries.
Here in Costa Rica each day seems like 2 or 3. Come enjoy the comfort of Villa Maria!

Villa Maria is fully furnished from everything you need in the kitchen to cook a great meal. There are two cook tops and plenty of room to move around. If cooking is not on your list then ask us about having meals prepared for you! Or enjoy all the wonderful places in town to eat.All the towels and bedding you need. A full indoor laundry. Cable TV and High speed internet. The master bedroom has a queen bed, large shower and a tub with air jets. The larger guest room has a queen bed and the smaller has 2 twin beds. There is outside dinning on the deck. Three hamicks and 4 lounge chairs. A BBQ and lots of great gardens.
All the previsous listed items are only acessable if are able to find time away from the infinity edge pool.

There is many different things to do in Costa Rica. You can go from bird watching to white water rafting and off shore fishing to zipline tours.
The valcanos are great for hiking and site seeing. The hot springs are wonderful here too. Yoga and spa treatments are plentiful. You can even have
a massage on the deck at the house if you wish. Horseback riding and ATVs are always a good way to see nature and wildlife.
