Description & Location
This spectacular lake-front property is located in Stresa, Lake Maggiore, just 45 minutes away from Malpensa Airport, in the opposite direction of Milan. This large, four floor, 8 bedroom villa was built in 1903 by the Ricordi Family.
Originally named Villa Glicine, it is now known by the locals as Villa Ricordi. Ideal also for small group meetings and family reunions.The ground floor, has a garage with covered parking for three cars, storage space and a cantina. The first floor, has a fully-equipped eat-in kitchen, living room with fireplace and piano, an organ, an antique billiard room with a sound system, television room and powder room. There is also a large terrace with a spectacular view that has a stone table that seats 12, which we use for our main meals. The second floor, has two master bedrooms with baths that have beautiful lake views, a children's bedroom with bunk beds and a single bed, two bedrooms (one with queen-sized bed and one single) and a shared bathroom.

Special Characteristics
The house has a large water front walled-in garden that contains many exotic trees and flowering plants and both shaded and sunny lawn areas. Stairs lead down to swimmingfishing and sunning area by the lake. A ping pong table and 3 kayaks are available.
Attractions & Activities
The most valued feature of this property is the fabulous view of the three islands (Isole Borromeo) and surrounding mountains. The foothills of the Alps with the high peaks in the background complete the breathtaking vista that is gorgeous by day and also very romantic at sunset and during the night.
To the tourist, who for the first time arrives in Stresa, is offered a breathless sight. At the beginning a superb window of the lake front, delineated with lines of palm trees, with flourishing gardens and facades of majestic hotels. Then, turning to look at the lake, enchanted, as if emerged from the same waters the spectacular Borromean Islands (Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori). It is enough the splendour of these visions to make one understand how Stresa has been able to become one of the maximum meetings of international tourism. The town, already at the middle half of the 19th century was the most elegant place to stay, the most visited by the international upper middle class.
Others again are the reasons of so much fame and prestige. Here art and nature are mixed together in a way that one respects the other, here the hospitality is to boast to generation and the cultural initiative, that happens in the course of the year, they are the necessary corollary of it. Symbol of the vitality of Stresa is the animated Plaza of the wharf, the vast and tree lined Piazza Marconi.
Here the neo-classic parish of Sant'Ambrogio faces the square. To the right of the church there is the famous Villa Ducale of the year 1770, also this is in neo-classic style. The notoriety derives from it having been the residence of the philosopher Antonio Rosmini, whom here also entertained Alessandro Manzoni. Now the villa is an active Centre of "Studi Rosminiani". Nearby, famous to the international congressmen, one can find the modern and well equipped Palace of Congresses. Another destination of notable tourist flow is Villa Pallavicino of the 19th century. The interest for which is completely naturalistic, in that the large blooming park is rich in secular trees and has been transformed in an original zoological garden, where various species of animals live, including exotic animals like ostriches and kangaroos.

It is found in the heart of the Lake Maggiore, 45 minutes from Milan, 6 km from Stresa, and less than 2 km from the (A26) Highway exit of Carpugnino, immerse in the beautiful nature around it.In and around the Lake Maggiore area you will find eight golf courses in the range of 30 km, one of the highest concentration in Italy. The Golf course situated 500 metres above the sea level, with a southerly exposure, fresh during the Summer and sunny in Winter, is open all year except January. Between June and September included we are open seven day a week, during the other months we are closed on Mondays. You will find 18 holes, with foreshortenings of rare beauty on the lakes and mountains that surround it, to be played with amusement and skill. From Piazzale Lido, in the hamlet Carciano Stresa, the Cableway Stresa-Alpino-Mottarone starts. It takes 20 minutes to reach an altitude of 1.491 metres above sea level and brings 40 people per cage.The Mottarone situated between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, is considered one of the most beautiful natural balconies in the whole Piedmont, and not only. Its orographical formation allows the tourist's gaze to sweep over 360° from the Po Valley to the summits of the Alps.
The visitor's eye is struck by the summit of Monte Rosa and by the seven lakes (Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta, Lake Mergozzo, Lake Varese, Lake Camabbio, Lake Monate, Lake Biandronno) lying in a natural basin, which give the impression you can take them with the hand of fantasy.The Mottarone is not only breathtaking view, but also land amusement and diversion in every season: it's possible to practice winter sports, go trekking, hand-gliding, make exciting descents from the top by mountain bike on properly marked paths.
